If you are surprised by the weather forecast for the week to come, you might as well read this: the strongest cold front since this autumn/winter is just around the corner.

Still feeling quite warm today? In some cities, the day’s high soared to over 25 degrees this noon. But in fact, it is only -38 degrees Celsius in Jinhe, Inner Mongolia, -39 degrees in Tuerhong County in Xinjiang, and -40 degrees in Greater Khingan Mountains in Heilongjiang.
As the cold front heads south, China’s Central Meteorological Station issued a yellow alert for cold snap at 10 this morning.
The cold wave will sweep across middle and eastern part of China, lowering average temperatures by 6-10 degrees Celsius.
Some areas in south and southeastern China will see temperatures drop by 12-14 degrees. In Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan and Guangxi, some cities will see the mercury drop by over 16 degrees.
Day’s low between November 20 and November 24
People in Beijing will probably see the first snow of this winter. A blue alert for snowstorm has been issued in Beijing, north Tianjin, and north Hebei on Novermber 20-21.
There’s snow forecast in Shandong, Shaanxi, and Henan provinces. Nanjing, Hefei, Xi’an, Taiyuan, Huangshan and Wuhan cities may also see snow soon, and ice particle will probably fall in Changsha.
